Abstract

Atique Siddiqi is an eminent personality and known as an important figure in the history of Urdu journalism, but unfortunately as compare to his contemporaries he deprived of the legitimate place which he deserves. However, regardless of reward and praise he performed such outstanding deeds that his name will bright for the rest of the world. He came to Lucknow in his youth and started participating in political activities. During this period that his mind became acquainted with the principles of Communism and Socialism. His father was a staunch congressman. So naturally his inclination was towards the congress.

He served at Chief Whip's office, Indian Air Force and Indian Army's public relations department as a radio programmer in Baghdad, Tehran and Cairo during Second World War. In Baghdad and Cairo he also edited newspapers Watan and Hindustan.

He compiled many books on journalism and other literary topics. His artciels were published in esteemed literary journals of India.
