Zamzam Well in the Hadith of the Noble Prophet and the origin of its derivation

Abstract

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and prayers and peace be upon our Holy Prophet Muhammad ((May God bless him and grant him peace)) and his family and companions altogether.

This topic is one of the important topics that deserve research and investigation, in order to reach an important conclusion regarding the derivation of the word ((Zamzam)), and its original meaning in speech. Because many people misconceived that the origin of the word goes back to ((Zamzam of the Magians)) and that it is not from ((Zamzam of the Arabs)), and in addition to this, that the word did not appear in the Holy Qur’an, but rather its occurrence was confined to the hadith of the Prophet. Therefore, my choice fell on the hadith of the Prophet, and linked that to Islamic history and traditions, to get the desired goal of that, to nullify the illusion that stuck in the minds of many, and to validate the well’s proportion.

The nature of the research necessitated that it be in two sections:

The first topic: - The derivation of the word ((Zamzam)).

The second topic: - The source of the story ((Zamzam)) in the hadith of the Prophet and Islamic traditions.
