The detective novel, its types, features and journey in the twenty-first century

The detective literature or criminal literature has its roots in the West, and it is a type of Western literature whose events revolve around crime, hero, mystery and solution. This literature was popular in the West in the seventh and eighteenth centuries AD. One of the reasons for the lack of popularity of this literature in our Arab world is the difference and distance between the foundations of Western and Eastern societies and the customs of popularity, religion and culture. One of the most important types of this literature is what is written in prisons or about prisons, because it linked an interesting series that provokes the reader to events related to himself and the prison and the goal in the form of innocence or execution. The art of the police novel has become famous among the West and the Arabs in quantity and quality. The detective novel, which is the offspring of industrial civilization, includes positive and negative consequences as well. There are some reasons for underdevelopment of the detective novel and its absence from the arena of Arab literature are: The impact of politics, society and culture on all types of literary writings, ignorance of the law and legal policy, Western ideas and opinions that did not fit for our culture and society & advancement of the West over the Arabs in terms of technology and scientific level.
