Abstract

Depriving women of their right to inherit is a major issue in Pakistani society now a days. The purpose of this article was to describe the Inheritance rights of women in Islamic law of Inheritance and to analyze the practical situation of Inheritance rights of Pakistani women in this context. An analytical and descriptive method was adopted for research. A review of the practical situation of giving women their right to Inheritance in Pakistani society proved that Pakistani women are deprived of their right to Inheritance by ignoring Islamic Law of Inheritance. Various tricks are used to achieve this goal. It had also been proven that the reasons for depriving women of their right to Inheritance are lack of fear of Allah, unfamiliarity of the people and especially women with Islamic law of Inheritance and considering dowry as a commutation of Inheritance. By educating the people about Islamic Law of Inheritance and rules regarding women’s right to inherit, a Pakistani women can be given her fundamental right of Inheritance.
